ODAK partner PSR awarded Best Orphan Drug CRO 2013

PSR-Agility has been awarded 'Best Orphan Drug Contract Research Group' in the Rare & Orphan Advocacy and Research (ROAR) awards.

The ROAR Awards were announced during the 4th Annual World Orphan Drug Congress Europe, November 14-15, 2013, in Geneva, Switzerland. The inaugural 2013 awards are an opportunity to recognize and honour achievements by organizations and individuals from industry, patient and rare disease advocacy communities.

“Winning this award as the PSR-Agility Orphan Drug Development partnership is an important acknowledgement for our pioneering work in the rare disease community over the last 5 years,” says Roger Legtenberg, CEO of PSR Orphan Experts.  “As a unique specialized service provider, our way of integrating innovative regulatory & clinical approaches and reaching crucial milestones for our clients has been the basis for winning this award. 4th Annual World Drug Congress Europe

 14th-15th November 2013

Representatives from both PSR and Moorfields Pharmaceuticals are attending the 4th Annual World Orphan Drug Congress being held in Geneva this week. This is Europe's largest commercially focused event for the rare disease industry and provides an opportunity to promote the ODAK project and provide relevant information.

1st International Rare Disease Research Consortium conference

16-17th April 2013

ODAK presents a poster at the 1st International Rare Disease Research Consortium conference held in Dublin.

The event in Dublin provided the first international opportunity for the ODAK consortium to raise awareness of the ODAK project. The project is co-funded by the EC FP7 programme and forms part of a cohort of European projects addressing rare diseases. Over 400 participants from Europe, North America, Australia and Asia participated. The conference facilitated knowledge sharing across a range of disease areas and the need for more regulatory success for orphan drugs. The ODAK presentation is available from our Resources page. 7th International conference on Tear film & Ocular Surface; Basic Science and Clinical Relevance.

18-21 September 2013

ODAK presents a poster at the 7th International conference on Tear Film & Ocular Surface; Basic Science and Clinical Relevance. Taormina Sicily.

Antonino Asero from ODAK’s lead partner SIFI SpA attended the event on behalf of the ODAK consortium. The company are also proud to be a sponsor of the event. The TFOS conference will present 'state of the art' research on the structure and function of tear film-producing tissues, tears and the ocular surface in both health and disease. This event in Sicily is an opportunity for the ODAK consortium to introduce the project to scientists involved in eye research, clinicians in the eye care community, and to companies with an interest in the treatment of ocular surface disorders.

The ODAK Consortium held their second Steering Committee and Technical project meetings in Italy during June 2013

The meetings hosted by project partner RTC was held at their laboratories in Pomezia, just outside Rome. The Technical Committee meeting brought together scientist and research managers from each of the partners to discuss early progress on the work packages. In the project Steering Committee meeting project management issues were addressed.
